Marine Life Protection’s 10 year decadal review.

The first decadal management review of California’s MPA network is scheduled to commence in 2022.

Called for in the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) master plan for MPAs, the 10-year review will compare statewide monitoring results relative to regional baseline conditions. This work is being conducted by The State of California and The Ocean Protection Council. Online Zoom meetings are being held looking for input from the communities that are directly involved with the MPA’s.

Commercial fishermen fall right into this category and we are being asked to give our input on the success or failure of the MPA program.
